Nicci Fitzgerald
A multidisciplinary artist drawn to colour, portraiture and delicacy.
Artist Statement
Nicci Fitzgerald is an Australian artist whose creative process is guided by a love for the quiet, reflective space that art can bring. Growing up in Moree and spending a few years in western Sydney, Nicci has always considered Moree home, largely due to the strong ties to family that the town represents. For Nicci, art is an ever-evolving journey of discovery.
She’s drawn to the way different forms of art can capture the imagination—whether it's the vibrant energy of colour, the soothing softness of pastels, the directness of a portrait's gaze, or the intricate delicacy of painted lace. She doesn’t define herself by one particular style or medium; instead, she embraces the vastness of artistic expression, finding joy in printmaking, drawing, painting, and the creation of anything that sparks her interest.
Though Nicci’s art doesn’t necessarily aim to communicate one specific message, it often evokes a sense of movement or stillness, reflecting the dynamic nature of her own creative exploration. For her, the beauty of art lies in its ability to surprise, its capacity to transport the mind, and its power to evoke emotions that can change with each moment.
